  1. Shalom Elisha,

I did receive your book near the end of November that I ordered through Amazon.com and I do so truly appreciate all that it encompasses. You are a gifted artist, poet, and now song writer and singer as well! I also want to thank you sincerely for sharing your CD. It just arrived last week and is a very very special gift. You are truly a blessing to so many people.

    Happy Holiday Season, Nancy

  2. Dear Elisha,

I remember visiting Kibbutz Kfar Blum and what a moving event it was when you took time to show us the house you actually lived in right before we boarded the bus to leave. The thought occurred to me then, regarding how very difficult it must have been for you to be separated from your parents at such a tender age, and for so much of the time. As a mother, it was hard to imagine having to make that decision, even knowing it was for the best.

Although I never served in the military, my firstborn son, Scott, was sent overseas during the original Middle East conflict and he also experienced the horrors of war, losing friends, and the days of a relatively carefree life as he knew it. He went there with a certain degree of innocence as a young man and returned home very changed, physically, mentally and spiritually. I pray for healing of those men and women who serve in his or her national defense forces.

Your words in the poem so accurately portrayed an image that immediately touched my soul. Please know that I could totally identify and relate as you clearly described my own feelings at this stage of my life. It is beautiful and touching. I thank you sincerely for sharing it. Your gifts are surely a blessing to others who read your writings or view your artwork. I believe God is working though you to touch others who may be out there somewhere in the process of searching for meaning, healing, contentment and peace.

    God Bless You,

    Nancy

  3. Hello Elisha,

Thank you for letting us know about your new book. We ordered it upon notification from you, and are hoping it will arrive this week! It sounds like things are going well for you. Congratulations on this achievement.
We are looking forward to reading your poems and viewing your artwork!

    Peace and love,

    Nancy Esidor

  4. Elisha – looking and listening, your work is from the heart.

Simple, soulful, alive and fully Elisha.

You are a very lucky man.

  5. Dear Elisha,
Your painting “Love” is so intriguing and thought provoking! All weekend I had it in my mind – the colors, the gestures, the feeling it provokes while looking at this painting. There is so much depth in this picture – it speaks volumes!!! Congratulations – you did it – there it is – “Your Masterpiece”! Thank you so much for sharing your art with me.
    M.L.

  6. Hello Elisha,
Your painting “Love” is both visually tender and intellectually stimulating. The use of complementary secondary colors and (apparently) simple line demonstrates a deep knowledge of color theory and composition that is effectively camouflaged by the intimate nature of the pairing of the figures. I find your painting moving on many levels–well done my friend! Keep up the good work…
    –Al

  7. Elisha,

Your paintings and colors are really nice!!! Thanks again for all your help.
    Marah

  8. Hi, Elisha,
The article in The Jewish Magazine is so wonderful. And I enjoyed viewing some of your art again. It is incredible. I also enjoyed learning a little more of your story. You are truly an amazing person. God has smiled on you in spite of your childhood difficulties. I miss seeing you. I hope you and your family are doing well. Shirley

  9. On behalf of the Hillel Milwaukee community, staff and board members, we sincerely thank you for your generous gift of a piece of art entitled “Art – My Song.” It will be displayed in our new facility for the enjoyment of our students and community members, and will greatly add to the beauty of our building. Your artwork will be treasured here at Hillel for years to come.

We are serving a significantly larger number of students than ever before, and we very much appreciate your committment to Hillel Milwaukee and your investment in our Jewish future. Todah Rabah!

    Sincerely,
    Heidi Rattner

  10. Elisha,
I enjoyed reading the short version about your life in the Jewish Magazine. Your story is a narrative on the history of Israel and of the Jewish people. I don’t think most people who visit Israel really understand the struggle of those who lived through the early formative years of Israel. It is a remarkable story that needs to be told over and over. It is a story that young Israelis need to be told over and over, so that they don’t lose their sense of passion for the inheritance that is being passed down to them by those whose courage and perseverance made the nation of Israel a beacon of hope for millions of Jews around the world and also an example of courage and sacrifice for the entire world.
Elisha, you are an incredible artist. It is not surprising that your art is exhibited around the world. It is exceptional. Your use of color and composition is emotional. You are truly gifted. I am sure that with all the pressures that come with owning a travel agency, your art has provided you with a place of peace and tranquility. Thank you for sharing it with the world. Is there a gallery in Chicago or online where lithographs can be purchased.
Thanks for the years of friendship.
    Jerry & Shirley

  11. Dear Elisha,
WOW!! I’m so touched by your story in The Jewish Magazine. It’s evident that you were born during the Holocaust times, but I never knew your unique story. Thank you for sharing it. What humbles me is that you’ve been through unimaginable times, that are uncomprehendable to many, (including myself), who have grown up blessed, in a comparatively “stable” life. You’ve built a wonderful, successful life, from what began as a life of heartache, and became a successful, life-long entrepreneur, all away from your homeland, (PLUS still create beautiful pieces of art, that reflect the beauty of life, and not the hardships that shaped your beginnings).
You are an inspiration Elisha of truly taking “lemons and turn them into lemonade.” Many could learn a lesson from you on how to be positive, strive to grow, and how not to let the negativity of life dictate what you will become.
Thank you for sharing your story with one more life that you have touched. You are a true blessing to know!!!
P.S. As I’ve told you before, I will always remember meeting you for the first time. I knew then that I have met a special person that day, (and I’ve met a lot of business owners in my 12 years at the BBB).
    Amy

  12. Elisha,
I truly love your art. You have an amazing gift, which I didn’t expect. You’re probably one of our most creative, gifted person I know, and just an overall good man (which is of the most importance in life)!
You, your business and art obviously inspires so many.
    Amy

  13. Shalom Elisha,

I have read your story twice. The part that tear my heart out is having the picture in my head as you and your fellow students were shuffled out of your home and away from your mother and father into buses with mudded windows into the night in order to save you. It reminds me of the story of Moses being taken from his mother’s breast and placed in a basket into the Nile. The love of a mother is strong enough to give her child away in order to save that child, even if she were to never see him again. Than your last story of your friend being killed March 3, 1963 was the next pull on my heart. I will never forget this part of your life either. You know it is through our pain that we become stronger. That is what you have done with your amazing paintings. The pain that is still a part of you is also the greatness in your work. I Love the Jerusalem painting. It’s very different to me and yet I would know it was painted by your hand even if you had not sent it. The colors and the straight lines are very clean and powerful. John M.

  14. Elisha,

Your web site and life story are very interesting. You should be writing books about your background and travel experiences so you could illustrate them with your artwork.
    Jim

  15. Dear Elisha,
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I only wish I could stand in front of your art and look at it for hours. Since I am not blessed to be there, I am enjoying it as my computer’s screensaver!
    Yours, Chuck

  21. Hi Elisha,

I’m a student of sculpture at Tel Hai Art Academy in Israel, and was at your talk about two weeks ago, at the academy. Thanks for your sincerity, frankness, and openness. Your life story is unique and enriching for anyone who is willing to listen to it. I’m enjoying your work a lot, browsing through your works at the web site. For me, I feel much in common with your work, going through your paintings. Feelings that come to me, such as frustration with the separation between people and the longing for closeness, the beauty of forms and the oneness that made out of the sum total of individual objects and colors. I can hear the music coming from most of your drawings, as an expression of Love and harmony.

Thanks for being who you are! And, thanks for the opportunity to listen to you at Tel Hai Art Academy.

Whishing you Good Luck in all your doings!

    Naloa.

  22. “It’s amazing how much your artwork reminds me of my boyhood on the kibbutz. It feels like these works were always around me…” – David

  23. Dear Elisha,

We have very profoundly studied your Art Promotional Brochure, your homepage, your artwork and your life-history which is presented there. Congratulations for both presentations (brochure and homepage), a very good choice of the paintings and not overloaded with texts. With these presentations we think you will have good success. We are very happy that you are continuing in painting – you, as one of the best artists we have known in our lifetime! Don’t be too modest. You have a very strong command on perspective for your modern, contemporary art! Best wishes for you – Adam & Christine

  24. Dear Elisha:

I forwarded your newest painting (and a link to your website) to my father, he wanted to pass his congratulations on the new work. He thinks your works are interesting in their meaning, composition, colors.

He also says that you are one of the few artists with own face and style. He also says how unusual and pleasant for him, that a talented artist can also be a good project manager. He also thinks from looking at your photograph that you must be a nice person.

It is personally very touching for him that an artist, not just a business person, has started the NY Florence Biennale Show. He wishes you long years of health and inspiration. My mother, my husband and I join Pavel in good wishes and admiration.

    Fondly,
    Natalia for Pavel Taybe

  25. Elisha -

    Andrea B.

  26. Wow!! Elisha!!!!
Your new painting “My Song” is Absolutely beautiful!!!!
    I love the colors!!
Your piece is dynamic and I am quite certain it will gain alot of attention!!

    Amanda (Mandy)

  27. Elisha: WOW! Where did your inspiration come from? I am particularly drawn to “My Song”; the word ‘clever’ comes to mind. It is all appealing to me; the lines, curves, connections of images as well as the colors you involved. Touche’, Mr. Artist.

  28. “I have not been able to stop thinking about your talent or your unique connection with the world that is exhibited through your narrative style of painting. Your art has a balance of color, composition and lyricism that is unique to you alone. You see things in a balance that is gentle and complete. While many pieces speak to things specific to your life, the whole of your work has a rhythm that is both personal and universal. It reaches out with a solo voice that pulls us all together. I hope that every day you consider the new way to reach out to those of us who may not be able to connect the things that you do – through the stories that you weave through your artwork. Please continue to explore and push so that we might see where it leads you.” – Chris
